Encounter with Stradivari

BVA International is proud to inform that it had been commissioned by the Nippon Music Foundation to make in cooperation with a Japanese crew an audio and audio-visual recording in HDTV format of a very special concert "Encounter with Stardivari 2006". The concert was held in the Church of Sts. Simon and Jude in Prague on 9 October within the 10th annual international conference Forum 2000 and within the Stradivari Europe Tour (which stopped in Brussels on 5 October and in Prague).

The concert, which was attanded by important guests and delegates of the conference led by the ex-president of the Czech Republic Václav Havel, was co-organized by the Forum 2000 Foundation and the Nippon Music Foundation. The Nippon Music Foundation owns the largest collection of the world´s finest stringed instruments, including those made by Antonio Stradivari. One of the main objectives of NMF today is to loan thsese exquisite instruments gratis to world-renowned musicians as well as young promising artists. The programme featured compositions by Dvorak, Moszkowsky, Schubert and Mendelssohn-Bartholdy performed by young talented artists from Japan and all over the world. Under strict security measures eleven Stradivari instruments were played during the evening, ten of them being the property of NMF and one on loan for the Stradivari Europe Tour from the Royal Academy of Music in London. The concert was closed by Happy Birthday Music dedicated to Václav Havel to celebrate his 70th birthday played on ten priceless Stradivari instruments. It was a great honour for BVA to cooperate on such a presitigious project.
