Český Krumlov - documentary
BVA has been making a HDTV documentary about the town and castle of Cesky Krumlov, devoted to the past as well as the present. A highlight of the documentary will be a part devoted to the uniqe Baroque Theatre and an experimental performance of baroque opera by Alessandro Scarlatti: L´Amor Generoso. The castle theatre in Cesky Krumlov is the second oldest theatre in Europe, its foundation dating back to 1682 and preserved in the authentic state from 1766. Extensive restoration has been underway for about two decades in order to preserve the elaborate building, stage props, machinery, special effects instruments, lighting system, original costumes and a vast archive of librettos, scripts, sheetmusic, theatre plays etc.
